My Number 4 Top Female Fictional Book Character

My number 4 all time favorite female fictional character is…

...Stephanie freakin’ Plum!!!!

Okay, how many of you have seen the obnoxious book covers ‘One For the Money, Two for the Show, Three to Get Deadly, etc etc etc’? Every time you see them you think to yourself, “Really? She wrote another one?” Well I got tired of asking myself that and decided to read the damn series. And guess what? I LOVE it! It is so fab! And now I ask myself when I see the book covers in the store, “When is she going to write another one?” [With that said as of now I still have four books to read until I’m completely up to date on the series. And yes that includes the between the numbers books.]

So this series centers around Stephanie Plum. Stephanie is just your average Jersey girl who has lost her job as a lingerie buyer and is so desperate for money that she becomes a bond enforcement agent aka Bounty Hunter aka badass. Okay, maybe not so much badass in Stephanie’s case (at least in the normal sense of the word). Stephanie doesn’t really have a lot of skill as a bounty hunter but she does have a lot of luck (well kinda), a gossipy community, and two (sometimes three but it’s a little weird) totally hunky guys who are in love with her.

Stephanie is an average sized girl, actually on the thin side by some standards, she’s curvy has big brown curly hair, and an attitude bigger than her hair. She loves to eat doughnuts and fast food. She is perpetually blowing up, losing, and generally destroying cars. (I seriously don’t know how she gets insurance for them.) The only car she has destroyed is The Buick. Stephanie has a hilariously crazy Grandma Mazur, her best friend is a former ho named Lula (who is also a rather large black woman and cracks me the hell up), and generally surrounded by the funniest cast of characters.

Let’s do a quick description of Stephanie’s biggest and continual dilemma: the men in her life. First of there’s Joe Morelli. Joe was Stephanie’s first love; he popped her cherry, and (some what) recently came back into her life as a more mature and reliable version of himself. The sexual tension between Morelli and Stephanie is palpable. Eventually he gets to the point where he thinks he wants to marry her, even with her crazy ass family. (Although if you ask me he has no room to talk. His gma is sccaaaarry.) Did I mention Joe is Italian hot?!? Well he as that going for him. The newest man in Stephanie’s life is Ranger. He’s former Navy Seals (aka ripped) and he has a Batman/Zorro kind of vibe to him. Sexy and mysterious. He’s Stephanie’s bounty hunter mentor, he’s in love with her, and he does pretty well putting up with her family. Ranger plays by his own rules, which makes him unpredictable as a partner. (Meaning feelings part of a relationship, not physical, you KNOW that man satisfies.) He smells incredible and is Cuban. (I really want to know if he salsa dances.)

With all that said, what’s great about Stephanie is that she manages all the crazy in her life: men, gmas, killers, former ho bff’s who are constantly getting into trouble (man do I feel her there. JK ☺ my bffs aren’t ho’s.), and the constant worry of her next paycheck. Stephanie makes me feel good about myself because if she has deal with all this shizz surely I can deal with mine. She handles everything with humor, tenacity, and stubbornness. She is spunky, creative, and a modern woman in many ways. She is a new hero for a new millennium. Stephanie is also extremely loyal to her family and friends. She is constantly helping those closest to her and in all honesty is a good example of a friend. Stephanie is constantly on a harebrained adventure full of drama, intrigue, mystery, and laughs.

If you haven’t already, give Stephanie a try. She’ll entertain you, along with all of her friends and family. ☺

PS: I think this would make an excellent TV series. I’m thinking USA, FX, or HBO.

  1. lol, no hos, just redheaded sluts ;)

and if it's heavy on the physical scenes, I'm thinking HBO [see:True Blood]. though if you're thinking shorter episodes (people seriouly underestimate the amazingness-potential of 30 min episodes [see:Weeds]) then Showtime is the best!
