Dear Peyton Manning,

That was a tough loss we had on Saturday night. I was so upset and depressed when I went to bed that I had trouble sleeping. On top of that I encountered a number of Jets fans early the next morning. So I feel your pain.

I know it's several days after the game but I keep thinking about it and decided better late than never.

Basically all I wanted to say is the loss is not on your shoulders and thank you for being you. Anyone who has watched the Colts this season can see that the only reason the Colts did as well as they did is because of your leadership. Your understanding of the game, training of new players, and level head on the field created the Colts wins. Of course I know that football is a team sport. The special teams and the defense played this season at their usual levels. Injuries seemed to not effect these areas of the game as intensely as they effected the offense.

Peyton, (Can I call you Peyton?) you have done so much for Indianapolis, football, the Colts organization, and the entire state of Indiana. I think you becoming a Colt was one of the best things to ever happen to us. You have impacted the citizens of Indiana in ways you will never know. Please don't ever let the media or criticisms get you down. Please remember the positive impact you have had on the world. Please remember you are way funnier than Tom Brady. And please have a good off season, make good choices, and have fun.

Rest up Peyton. And thanks again,

A Loyal Fan

So, this was the emotional rambling of a passionate fan dealing with the disappointment of loss and the hope for a new season. My family is a die-hard football fan-ily. (Whatcha think? New catch word? Fan-ily. eh, we'll see.) We are a dual household: Packers and Colts. The end of the season for our teams always comes with a mourning period. Thankfully the Packers won their Wild Card game ensuring we had another week to cheer on one of our teams. Anyway, like I said just some emotional out pouring.
