My 5th Favorite Fictional Female Book Character is....
....Ella of Frell from Ella Enchanted
I love Ella. Ella is the first character that well, enchanted me. Ella is so relate-able. She is a normal teenage girl, who thinks like a normal girl, who not only has to deal with challenging circumstances she overcomes them. I love the inner strength that Ella has. Basically she's been dealt a shit hand in life but she doesn't let it get her down. She remains positive, hopeful, and fun.
Ella Enchanted was the first young adult (ish) book I read. I loved that Ella was not the 'popular' girl. I loved that Ella chose to have one good friend who wasn't popular to being popular. I felt like a lot of the qualities Ella possessed I possessed too. Brown hair, clumsy (one of my favorite characteristics), smart, and a creative dreamer.
Ella is a princess, and I firmly believe that in some way shape or form every girl wants to be a princess. I love the fairy tale aspect of the story. But Ella is not your typical princess, she kicks butt, fights her own battles (with support), and has a whole hell of a lot more personality than most princesses. Ella has (even though she's not real) has always inspired me. If Ella can deal with her issues than I can deal with mine. If she can deal with obedience AND mean girls then I can deal with my own mean girls.
I love Ella. She has been one of my best literary friends and definitely deserved a space on my top 5 list.
